With over 25 years of experience as a licensed psychologist, I am passionate about bringing my psychology expertise to empower people toward emotional resilience, holistic wellness, purpose, and compassionate living. I am author of The Vegan Transformation: A Journey to Heal Yourself and the World (Lantern Publishing & Media, 2025), which explores the psychological and spiritual impacts of a plant-powered, vegan lifestyle (winner of Outstanding Creators Award and Vegan Choice Award, 2025).
As a Psychology Educator and Speaker, I specialize in teaching about emotional well-being, plant-based living, and the psychosocial aspects of lifestyle change. This includes speaking at events, cooking and nutrition classes, organizational presentations, and wellness education. My YouTube channel features inspiring interviews and insights for flourishing emotionally with a plant-powered, vegan lifestyle. I also offer programs to empower vegans, healers, and changemakers toward improved well-being, aligned purpose, and empowered advocacy.
My areas of expertise include:
- Psychological, emotional, and mental benefits of a vegan lifestyle
- Thriving emotionally and socially as a vegan
- Overcoming psychological and social barriers to healthy lifestyle change
- The food-mood connection
- Emotional resilience
- Effective and empowered communication
- Finding and expressing authentic purpose
- Values alignment and compassion
- Mind-body-spirit wellness
I draw on many years of professional experience and training to inform my current work as an educator, author, and speaker. I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, and previously worked as a psychotherapist for twenty-five years, helping clients make lifestyle changes to achieve better physical, mental, and emotional well-being. I now bring this experience forward to educate on thriving in heart, mind, body, and spirit.
I hold certifications in Plant-Based Nutrition (T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at e-Cornell), as a Master Vegan Lifestyle Coach and Educator (Main Street Vegan Academy), Licensed Food for Life Instructor (Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine), and Transformational Coach (Institute for Women-Centered Coaching). I am co-author of the Behavioral Medicine Treatment Planner (Wiley, 1999) and authored the e-book 7 Best Practices to Inspire Loved Ones to Go Plant-Based.
I am passionate about the power of personal transformation to create a more fulfilling, healthy, and purposeful life – and a kinder, healthier, more sustainable world.
